As I have mentioned before, one of the bummers of being in Spitland is that you have many websites blocked by the Spitland Internet Gestapos (SIG). To the rest of the world it is known otherwise as the Great F1rewa11 of Ch1na (GFW).

All traffic in and out of Spitland go through Shangha1 where data packets are sniffed and sieved. Keywords that the SIG deemed questionable are red flagged by the bots and may ultimately trace back to the parties involved.

Now for me, I am neither dangerous nor politically motivated (Spitland-wise) and so I feel that it is wise for me to stay under the radar and not court any trouble. Hence the weird spelling of certain words in my entries or coined a totally new phrase altogether.

I have tried poking holes in the wall for years and with sporadic success. I had a server in Singapore redirecting traffic for me but the down side to it is that it can't display images properly. At that time, where it was the best I could do, I tell myself that it was better than nothing.

It was a cat-and-mouse game where the SIG would eventually catch up and lock it down. The recent C0DeeN proxies by Planetlab was starting to deteriorate and I suspect that it is slowly being compromised. Ps1ph0n didn't do any better. It didn't even have a chance to get off the ground.

For those, who are on Wordpress, Blogdrive and Xanga, you would have realised that I stopped commenting for quite some time. My previous proxy solution was through C0DeeN and in recent weeks, it no long able to let me submit comments on Blogdrive and Wordpress. Xanga was worse, totally unable to access. I had to read it via integrators like Bloglines.

Anyway, as I was looking for a solution to get back my Flickr!, I chanced upon this proxy solution called T0R. I downloaded it, installed it and it worked! Hallelujah!

I am back, baby!!

ZheBin: Well, the picture more or less sums up exactly what I was trying to say anyway.

Heh heh, there are always ways to get around things. Whether you chance upon them is another thing. But do internet search, sure can find all these useful apps.

lancerlord: I can't agree more. I have tried so many different ways to get around. Some successful, some not. You are right that it is all about where to look for these solutions. The internet is big and too big if I may add, ending up like a needle in a haystack search.
