Strangely coincidental that MeePok was blogging about eating stewed rabbit heads while I have 2 dishes to introduce today. The common denominator between our culinary adventures was that we both didn't order it but had to eat it to avoid offending our respective hosts.
Welcome to Spitland, folks.

I went for dinner at a Japanese restaurant last Sunday and this was ordered. It was smoked whale specially flown in from Japan. While it tasted very good, I was somewhat feeling guilty as I had this feeling that the whale before me was killed despite being on the endangered list. Over the years, Japan has been tactically manuvering in world politics to justify commercial whaling in the guise of marine research. This obviously didn't go down too well with the WWF, Green Peace and other environmental activists groups.
I tried asking what species of whales, in the hope that it could be one that was not on the endangered specie. Not of the waitresses knew and the chef speaks Japanese and hence no answer from him either. My guess is that it was either a Humpback Whale or a Minke Whale.
I felt guilty because while I know I owe a responsibility to the world to be a Green citizen, the smoked whale tasted really good. I am most ashamed.

Next dish was Horse Sashimi. Granted that I have already tried Donkey (and its pen1s), horse didn't really intimidate me except that it was sashimi i.e. raw i.e. uncooked. Imagine if I were to run after the horse in the field and sank my teeth in the animal. It would have tasted the same, only more bloody.
I will never look at My Little Pony the same way ever again
